Established by the visual team behind the award-winning magazine – travel360, the former inflight magazine of AirAsia, Art Director Kan SeakHong and award-winning photographer and photojournalist Nicky Almasy introduces their new venture, MonoMark Studio.

Kan SeakHong
Creative Design + Art Direction
Kan Seak Hong is an Art Director with more than 20 years of experience in Graphic Design and more than 10 years of experience in managerial creative positions. In 2011, travel360 was a struggling title with very poor art and design direction. He was responsible in turning it around and taking it to heights never seen before, so much so even the CEO of Emirates when Tony Fernandes brought him to visit our office once, said that the magazine was far better than all the heritage premium airlines titles out there. During his role as an art director in AirAsia, he has assisted travel360 won multiple awards. His passionate and experienced with a proven track record of successfully leading art direction for projects, and achieving high levels of client satisfaction such as Brunei Sultan, AirAsia, Royal Brunei Airline, Standard Chartered, Ambank, Maybank, ING Funds, Elken, Golheart and etc. He adept in overseeing all visual aspects of a project and offering design solutions when needed. He is able bringing forth strong leadership, and the creativity necessary to effectively oversee creative development and design processes.

Nicky Almasy
Photography + Video Production
Photographer and filmmaker Nicky Almasy has been based in Asia for 16 years concentrating on culture, architecture, arts and heritage. His work has attracted both awards and attention, reflected in his global client base. Nicky has shot for international magazines and newspapers including Condé Nast, Wallpaper*, The Financial Times, The Daily Mail and WHERE. He was the only official photojournalist for airline AirAsia’s inflight magazine Travel360 for 5 consecutive years. With over 50 magazine covers under his belt, his corporate clients Sennheiser and K-Array, among others. His photographic portfolio covers architecture, lifestyle, travel, F&B and portraiture. He is also an in-demand filmmaker, principally for music videos and documentaries, which have appeared on television in his native Hungary. In 2010, Nicky was commissioned to shoot Shanghai Tower, Asia’s tallest building and the world’s second largest building after the Burj Khalifa. The project – which has taken five years to shoot – encompasses the entire construction process of Shanghai Tower, from breaking ground to completion. With two published photography books on architecture ‘Hudec by Nicky Almasy’ (2017) and ‘Gonda’ (2019) he has been living in Southeast Asia, working on documentary films and photography focusing on projects such as the malaria elimination in Cambodia alongside the Mahidol Oxford University Research Unit or the Peranakan heritage of Penang, George Town.

Michele Tee
Advertising + Public Relations
Creativity. With years of experience in the creative design and publishing industry, Michele Tee collaborates with creative teams to create, plan and deliver strategic visions for above and below the line advertising, books, annual reports, magazines, etc. to potential clients such as Sultan of Brunei, Royal Brunei Airlines, Brahim’s Holding, KPJ Healthcare, Ambank Group, AmPrivate Banking, ING Funds, Kenanga Investment, Alzheimer’s Disease Foundation Malaysia (ADFM), Elken and others. She also works with web designers and producers, overseeing the production of websites for publishing. Leadership. She is responsible for the overall visual aspect of an advertising or media campaign, and coordinates the work of other graphic designers on artwork or layouts, developing a clear vision and delivering engaging visual messages, and dynamic ideas in direct dialogue with clients. She always makes sure to convey to consumers the message and image the client wants, and very knowledgeable about how to create intuitive, user-friendly designs, presenting strong visual designs and conceptual work across all multimedia platforms. Time-Management. Excellent time management skills are her forte, and she is able to balance competing priorities and multiple projects against tight deadlines.
